Heilongjiang is a multiethnic and border province of immigration whose Han nationality takes up more than 90% of the total population. Though its population of minority is low, the sort of minority is various. There are mainly 10 native minorities, namely the Manchu, the Hui, the Korean, the Mongolian, the Daur, the Oroqin, the Evenks, the Khalkhas, the Hezhe and the Xibo, most of whose historical changes and folk custom are propped up by communities. The Manchu, Mongolian, Oroqin, Oroqin and Khalkhas have rich mythological inheritance. The “talking and singing music” about heroes has been handed down for a long history among the Hezhe, Oroqin and Khalkhas, such epic talking and singing music as Hezhe’s Yimakan, Oroqin’s Mosukun and Tour’s Wuqin is the precious wealth of Heilongjiang’s culture. Heilongjiang as a multiethnic and border province has gradually formed a civilization with the characteristic of frontier, minority and compatibility for Chinese and western culture since modern times. The immigration from the south of Shanhaiguan in the early Qing Dynasty made the Chinese culture, tradition and custom mix together with native culture of Heilongjiang province. In the early 20th century, Harbin, Heihe and Suifenhe Port of Heilongjiang province became international business center. There is constant communication between the culture of eastern and western countries such as Russia, Japan, Germany, Dutch, France and so on, reflected by their very aspect such as buildings, religions, culture, education and hygiene, and the culture of Heilongjiang province. Heilongjiang is rich in intangible cultural heritage.
