Heilongjiang is a multi-ethnic frontier province as well as an immigrants’ province. Han people account for more than 90% of the total population. In spite of too few ethnic minority population, races are more and there are 10 native ethnic minorities, namely Manchu, Hui, Korean, Mongolian, Daur, Oroqen, Ewenki, Kirgiz, nationality, Xibe. Their historical changes and the native folk customs have been supported by inhabited communities. Among them, Manchu, Mongolian, Oroqen, Ewenki, Daur ethnics bear rich heritage in myth. Lengthy raps themed in heroes have long been circulating among Hezhen, Oroqen and Daur such as the "imams worthy" from Hezhe, "Mo Sukun" from Oroqen and “Wu Qin" from Daur. These raps with epic nature are valuable treasure of Heilongjiang national culture. In modern times, this multi-ethnic border province, Heilongjiang has gradually formed a frontier, ethnic characteristics that are compatible with the nature of Western civilization. The splendid Chinese tradition, customs and folk customs in a variety of indigenous culture brought by Immigration after lifting the ban since the early Qing Dynasty's "Exiles"and"Xing land” blended with Heilongjiang’s native culture. In early 20th century, places in Heilongjiang especially Harbin, Heihe, Suifenhe Port became international business centers. Different national Characteristics of different ethnic culture in Eastern and Western architecture, religion, culture, education, health and other aspects from Russia, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, France and many other countries exchange with the Heilongjiang’s regional culture and became an important part of Heilongjiang River’s modern civilization. Heilongjiang Province is rich in non-material cultural heritage resources and some have entered the literary and artistic creations in various categories, resulting in a large number of excellent works. And some have entered tourism and cultural industries, creating social and economic benefits. Heilongjiang Provincial Government published the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage on March 27th, 2007, 57 totally.
