[Photo: CFP] The 1960s-era drama "Mad Men" has been named outstanding drama series, its third consecutive win, at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. AMC's cable TV series about an advertising agency in the 1960s also won outstanding writing for Matthew Weiner and Erin Levy. ABC's "Modern Family", which makes fun of the everyday life of three American families, dethroned "30 Rock" to become the newest outstanding comedy series. Best actor and actress in a drama series went to Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"; AMC) and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"; TNT) respectively. In the comedy series genre, Jim Parsons from CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" took away the outstanding actor award, and Edie Falco of Showtime's "Nurse Jackie" won outstanding actress. HBO's 10-episode WWII epic "The Pacific" won outstanding mini-series. |
