TV Drama "Cellphone" is to air on Beijing Satellite Channel, Dragon TV, Zhejiang Satellite TV and Shenzhen Satellite TV on May 10. Chen Daoming, Wang Zhiwen, Mei Ting, Liu Bei and Ke Lan star.

A launch ceremony for TV drama "Cell Phone" was held in Beijing on April 27. Lead actors Chen Daoming and Wang Zhiwen attended the event and talked about their cooperation, the Beijing News reports.

In China, Chen and Wang are distinctive character actors who tackle their roles in a fresh and unique style. When asked about their cooperation, Chen said that working together was a comfortable and professional experience. He acknowledged that they didn't need to say a lot. They can understand each other with a single sentence or look.

Screenwriter Liu Zhenyun also attended the ceremony. As well as writing the script, he also served as the show's art director and made a cameo in the drama.

Domestically, "Cell Phone" was one of the most popular films of 2003. It was directed by well-known Beijing native Feng Xiaogang. Ge You, Zhang Guoli and Xu Fan starred.

Scripted by Liu Zhenyun and based on his novel of the same name, the film revolves around two successful men whose marriages are wrecked when their wives uncover their extramarital affairs through evidence left on their mobile phones. In broader terms, the film explores the role of mobile phones in interpersonal relationships in modern China, where the rapid development of information technology is having a huge impact on the way people communicate.
