Zhang Donghai was born in Harbin in 1967. He is a professional artist from the Heilongjiang Painting Institute, second-level state artist, member of the China Artist Association, director of Heilongjiang Artist Association, and committee member and Deputy Secretary-General of China Tongze Handwriting and Painting Institute.

His works 鈥淩ed Flower Garden鈥? 鈥淥ctober鈥?and 鈥淓clipse鈥?were selected for the Ninth and Tenth China Art Exhibition. 鈥淕old Sunshine鈥?was selected in the Second China Art Exhibition. 鈥淎utumn Fruits鈥?and 鈥淥ctober鈥?were selected in the Second and Third China Painting Institute Double Years Exhibition. His works have been displayed in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and other countries.
