The Chinese Delegation for the Winter Olympics was announced in Beijing recently. Among all the 91 athletes, 69 come from Heilongjiang province. The 21st Winter Olympic Games will open on February 13th in Vancouver, Canada. The Chinese Delegation for the 21st Winter Olympics has 182 members of which 91 are athletes. It is the largest Chinese delegation ever and the athletes are scheduled to participate in more competition events than in the past. Among China's top winter sports athletes are Wang Meng, who is the world champion in Women's Short Track Speed Skating, Shenxue and Zhao Hongbo, world's top Figure Skaters, Olympian gold medalist Han Xiaopeng, Li Nina and Yu Fengtong are among the competitor's list. 69 of the athletes on the Chinese delegation to the Winter Olympic Games come from Heilongjiang province. Members of the ice hockey, curling and figure skating teams are all from the northeastern province. The Chinese team won 2 gold medals in the women's short track speed skating and men's aerial freestyle skiing events in the Turin Winter Olympics 4 years ago.
