Thirty volunteers from around the world are being recruited by the Giant Panda Breeding Research Center in Southwest China's Sichuan Province to help staff during the coming Spring Festival holiday. Any giant panda fan between 18 and 45 years old and with college degree can apply for one of the 30 positions offered by the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding according to a statement issued on Monday. Each of the volunteers should work at least two days between February 14th and February 28th. The application deadline is February 8, and applicants who speak fluent English are favored. Giant pandas are among the world's most endangered animals. There are about 1,600 giant pandas living in China's wild, mostly in Sichuan and the northwestern provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu. |
