On August 9th, 1945, The Soviet Red Army attacked Japanese Guandong defense lines in 4 directions. Through half-a-month of bombing and besieging, the Soviet Army still couldn’t capture Mt. Xun and Shenghongsan Fortress. After the Japanese correspondents transmitted An imperial Edict of Ending the War, 90 Japanese Guandong soldiers laid down their arms, came out of the underground fortress and surrendered to Soviet Red Army on August 28th, 1945.
