The event was organized by Beijing Art Fair Culture Co., Ltd., also the force behind the Photo Beijing fair. In addition to its 30 galleries of classical art from China and around the world, the fair also includes several exhibitions of classical furniture, jewelry and jade works. As one of the preeminent brands in China's artistic community, the fair has become a representative platform for fine arts in China following the success of the inaugural 2009 event. As a strategic partner and the principal endorser of the fair, Mercedes-Benz will showcase a series of its classic models at the event, offering the public an opportunity to get a close feel of the craftsmanship the brand is known for. Art Beijing has again collaborated as well with Herm猫s China, reflecting its continued effort to cultivate a synergy between the art world and the corporate world. The fair's exhibitions draw on resources from across the globe in order to illustrate the trajectory of Chinese art, from the traditional to contemporary, complete with the relevant cultural and historical contexts. It is not merely an art show, but an educational experience and a sort of gateway to art appreciation. Masterpieces from both China and abroad will be exhibited, including works by Alfred Sisley, J.B.C. Corot, Dagnan-Bouveret, Zao Wou Ki, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong and others. Audiences will also find on display pieces of classical French furniture, sculptures, Eastern jewelry, jade, and 12th and 13th-century Buddhist statues. |
